Approval system for oil and coolant

DEUTZ Quality Class

Oil

The introduction of the new ACEA and API oil specifications, as well as the requirements for longer oil change intervals, reduced oil refill quantities and the inclusion of alternative fuels in the DEUTZ engine portfolio means that the current oil release classes must be updated.

Quality ClassOil type
DQC I-02Minimum oil quality for older diesel engine series without exhaust gas aftertreatment with shortened oil change intervals.
DQC II-18Minimum oil quality for older diesel engine series without exhaust aftertreatment, can be used in engines with open crankcase ventilation system.
DQC III-18High-performance engine oil for high-power diesel engines without exhaust aftertreatment. Suitable for engines with open and closed crankcase ventialtion system and/ or highest thermal loads.
DQC IV-18High-performance engine oil for high-power diesel engines without exhaust aftertreatment. Suitable for engines with open and closed crankcase ventilation system and/or highest thermal loads, as well as for very high demands on piston cleanliness (steel piston engines (TTCD)).
DQC II-18 LALow-ash engine oil, generally suitable for engines with open crankcase ventilation system and exhaust gas aftertreatment.
DQC III-18 LALow-ash high-performance engine oil for diesel engines with exhaust gas aftertreatment. Suitable for engines with open and closed crankcase ventilation system and/or high thermal loads.
DQC IV-18 LALow-ash high-performance diesel and gas engine oil for high-power engines with exhaust gas aftertreatment. Suitable for engines with open and closed crankcase ventilation system and/or highest thernal loads, as well as for very high demands on piston cleanliness (steel piston engines (TTCD)). Also suitable for extended oil change intervals.

DQC = DEUTZ Quality System
LA = Low Ash

Applications for DQC Releases

The links on this page provide the lube oil producers with the opportunity to download the DEUTZ AG company standard for DQC releases together with the appendices (limit values and application forms). In the company standard, the formalities of the release procedure are also described.

Coolant

With the implementation of an approval system for cooling system protective agents, the DEUTZ AG will expand the DQC oil approval system, which is already well-established with lubricant manufacturers and customers alike, to this product field. For this reason, the DEUTZ in-house standard H 0685-6 was introduced and contains the approval requirements and instructions for completing the approval procedure.

Approval designations for cooling system protective agents
Approval designationCooling system protective agent type
DQC CA-14Cooling system protective agents, contains silicate, based on monoethylene glycol (MEG)
DQC CB-14Cooling system protective agents, does not contain silicates, based on organic acid (OAT) and monoethylene glycol (MEG)
DQC CC-14Cooling system protective agents, contains silicate, based on organic acids and monoethylene glycol (MEG)

Only cooling system protective agents approved in writing by DEUTZ may be designated by the coolant manufactures in data sheets or other publications using the approval designations DQC CA-14, DQC CB-14 or DQC CC-14.
